Seeking a Youth Pastor

Moriah Bible Presbyterian Church (MBPC) is looking for a Youth Pastor.

​

MBPC, a Bible-Presbyterian Reformed Church, located at 31 Simei Road, is looking for a Youth Pastor to serve primarily in the English Congregation. Our community comprises about 200 active worshippers.

​

Under the pastoral and session leadership, MBPC is devoted to contending for the “faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people”, and to fostering Christ-centred relationships and spiritual growth.

​

Job Description:

The Youth Pastor will lead our Next Generation Branch, comprising the Children's, Youth, and Young Adults Ministries.

​

His primary focus is to create a biblically sound and Spirit-led environment where the Next Generation can thrive in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and actively engage in church life.

​

Term:

  • 2 years (subject to ongoing review).

  • 6 months probation period.

  • Salary and benefits will commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of pastoral care and counselling when required.

  • Preaching, teaching, and shepherding those in the Junior Worship School (JWS), Youth Fellowship (YF) and Young Adult Fellowship (YAF), helping them to grow and abide in Christ.

  • Plan and lead YF meetings, YAF gatherings, Bible Studies, and discipleship groups.

  • Organize and lead youth camps, retreats, and events that promote spiritual growth and fellowship.

  • Collaborate with church ministry leaders to integrate the Next Gen into the larger church body.

  • Recruit and train adult volunteers to serve as teachers, leaders, and mentors for the Next Gen.

  • Build relationships with other churches and organizations for combined youth events.

 

Administrative Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Next Generation Ministry program that is aligned with the church's vision and mission.

  • Actively participate in the Steering Committee and Session, contributing proposals, executing plans, budgeting, and collaborating for church growth.

 

Accountability:

  • Report directly to the Senior Pastor and the Session (Pastors, elders and deacons) and will produce a bi-monthly written report.

  • Take direction from the Senior Pastor regarding ministry directions and goals.

  • Undergo an annual appraisal by the elders to assess performance, development opportunities and focus.

 

We are looking for a person:

  • Preferably with a degree in Theology, ministry, or related field. Relevant ministry experience and training will also be considered.

  • Who professes the Reformed faith and subscribes to the Westminster Standards.

  • With experience in Next Generation ministry (program development, leadership, and discipleship) would be an added advantage.

  • Prayerful and teachable.
